3 more sleeps …

Until we fly to ….

keywest_large

I could not be more excited for our trip. This was a Christmas gift from my parents. They have already made the trek down the East Coast. They left about a month ago and have driven down with their chocolate lab, Harley whom has apparently been an excellent traveller. I Skyped them the other day and they were both wearing matching tropical shirts! It was too cute. I cannot wait to meet them down there for a week in the sun. I’ve been checking the weather on a daily basis and it’s been in the late 20s early 30s everyday (Celsius of course). As I look on my weather app on my laptop, I see that today it is –14, feels like –20! This makes me even more EXCITED to leave this cold weather for a while. I usually get really annoyed at people on Facebook who update their status updates about how they will be in the sun in so many sleeps. I have now become one of those people & I have to admit, I kind of like it. HA.

Are any of you heading anywhere for March Break/Spring Break?

Sometimes & Always #1

This is my first ‘Sometimes & Always’ post …
& I’m linking up with Megan from Mackey Madness!

Sometimes: I feel like working out…

Always: I can’t pass up an opportunity to add a little cheese to my dinners.

Sometimes: I attempt to make supper
(I wish this was more in the ‘always’ department as I’m sure my husband would as well lol)

Always: Walk my sweet, loveable Boots everyday!

Sometimes: Feel organized as school.
I am totally organized this week (only took me all weekend to do so) & I hope it stays this way!

Always: Love when people read my blog. I still feel like a newbie so whenever I get comments or a new follower, I jump for joy! : )

& Lastly … Sometimes: My most challenging students surprise me in showing me the most love.

This totally made my day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes & Always

Project 365–Week 5

This week was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long time … I am finally starting to feel a tad bit more organized. I did learn this week however; that getting organized is a lifelong process. I have come to terms with this. Things will eventually get done and there is no need to stress over it today.

Here are my Instagram pictures for Week 5  …

Friday, January 27th: Boots-ey in his usual sleeping position.

Saturday, January 28th: Meet Captain. My best friend’s friend’s boyfriend’s dog (did you actually follow that … hehe). He isn’t allowed on hardwood (notice the floor).
I think he would get along with my dear little Boots just fine!

Sunday, January 29th: Made Eggs Benedict for the first time. I accidentally made the sauce 3-cheese … which unfortunately did not work out as I had planned. I still enjoyed them but next time I think I’ll stick to one type of cheese … Did I mention I have a slight addiction to cheese. Ya.

January 30th: New makeup day! My skin is much lighter during the winter months & I had to find makeup to match. Love Smashbox!

February 1st: Winter Wonderland. What you can’t see here is our in-ground pool. 4 More months until we will be using it again!!

February 2nd: Surprise, surprise. Another picture of Boots. Can you say spoiled, much!?

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

Go Giants, Go! : )

The Joys of being a Teacher

Gotta love being a TEACHER!

It is minus 25 with the wind-chill & it just so happens that it is my team’s turn to do duty Sad smile.

It is too cold for the students to be outside but for some reason us adults still need to be. At my school we have a drop-off system where we actually open the car doors for the children to get out! That is better service than the best hotel in Moncton! HAHA.

I guess it’s for safety reasons … blah blah blah.

In any case … I hope I make it the 25mins outside … As I sit here in my warm classroom, I wish I could just stay here sipping my warm Tim’s coffee!

Tag 11 / 11 Facts!

Eleven did you know facts about Sheila

1. Sheila

is my first name. My name was almost Moira … my mother changed her mind and decided to go with Sheila. I like it because it’s not very common.

2. Sleep

The only way I can fall asleep is on my back… Unless I am completely exhausted.

3. Dawson’s Creek

I was totally obsessed with this show while growing up. I always wished I had a friend like Dawson that lived close by whom I could go visit by climbing into their window.

4. Cell phone

I wish I could say I rarely use it… but lately I have also been majorly addicted to my cell phone. Apps that I have discovered lately are: Path, Google+1, & Foursquare. And of course, the ones that I use more consistently: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Instagram.

5. Australia

I’ve been twice. Once for 8 months, when I was 18 & 19 years old & the second time to do my teaching internship. The second trip is when I started dating my husband. It was so much fun to begin our relationship by going on dates in Melbourne, Australia.

6. Rugby

I’ve been playing since I was in grade 9. I learned while I was attending the private school Notre Dame in Wilcox, Sk. Most people wouldn’t peg me as a rugby player because I come off as a little girly I guess you could say with my nails always done & my hair usually straightened. But I am the toughest standoff you’ll ever meet ;)

7. Photography

I am an aspiring photographer. Recently, I purchased my first Canon Rebel. Now, I just need to learn how to use it. I love snapping pictures. I am always the girl at the party with a camera in hand. I have taken thousands over my lifetime & need to get an external hard drive to back them up asap.

8. Teacher

I am a grade 5 intensive French teacher here in New Brunswick. I LOVE my job. This is my fourth year teaching and I absolutely love it. Would not change jobs for the world.

9. Boots

Boots’ is our extremely cute & lovable rescue dog. We rescued him from the SPCA almost 2 years ago. He is part Retriever, Rottweiler & Chow-Chow. Mostly Retriever though … His fur grows really long and we have to get his fur cut every once in a while.

10. Marathon

My dream is to run a marathon. I’ve attempted training a few times but never took it seriously. I often have difficulty trying to pace myself and take it slow. I try and run long distances before I am ready and then wonder why it hurts so much. Training for a marathon takes patience & much training over a long period of time. I will get there one day.

11. Husband

My husband and I were married August 2011. He is also a teacher which is perfect because when we get to share Snow Days off from school together. Yesterday, we spent the whole day in our pj’s watching movies cuddled up with Boots. It was heaven.

With that being said … I am tagging 10 of my followers (Thank you so much for following me) & 1 of my favorite blogs in this post.
TAG – You are it.
Write 11 facts about yourself. I won’t be offended if you don’t play.

I also wanted to give credit to C Mae over at Happiness is … I got the idea from her 11 11 11 facts tag post (so she doesn’t have to do it obviously).
